‘CURATE-IT-YOURSELF’ is a new concept in art collecting and display created by Staar. The idea is for clients to collect pieces that they connect with, those pieces are then hung next to each other to create a larger multi-pieced artwork, custom tailored to the clients visual taste and wall space.

Each painted panel is 1’x3’ and hangs vertically next to another panel. Currently there is a variety of panel choices from different collections to choose from in an assortment of styles, colours, patterns, and subject matter. More collections to be added soon.

This current collection celebrates and pays homage to the bold colourful graphics and signage from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. This was a time when boundaries were being broken in the art world and typography and signage were being created and recognized as fine art. Such luminaries as Roy Lichtenstein, Peter Blake, James Rosenquist, Frank Stella, Milton Glaser, and others, paved the way for this new genre of high art.

The current collections include: Palm Springs(colourful graphic images/shapes inspired by mid-century modern design), Carnaby St.(graphic images inspired by signage and fashion boutiques of mid-1960s London), TEASERAMA(images inspired by the adult scene of the 60s & 70s), Shock Therapy(mind-bending B/W op-art), and America in Decay (images of quirky Americana).
